In addition to working with the company’s R&D group, you will work with the company’s production department and interact with the company’s business team in the Nonwoven & Fiber Technologies business area.

The work will involve extensive development of new compositions and formulations, modification of carbohydrates and proteins used in the products and work with the organocatalysis used to react the biobased polymers with each other when applied to fiber-based materials. In your work, theoretical and laboratory work will therefore be continuously alternated.

Analysis methods used in our lab to characterize the adhesives include: pH, viscosity, SEM, FTIR, and physical tests of treated material such as strength tests (tensile strength, wet strength, bending strength, etc.), flame resistance tests and hydrophobicity tests. We also have pilot machines for treating nonwovens and technical textiles. For even more advanced chemical tests, we collaborate with universities and testing institutes.

Profile

You have:
• studied chemistry or chemical engineering with a focus on fiber chemistry, polymer chemistry, organic chemistry or carbohydrate chemistry at university level.
• probably have a Ph.D. in a relevant subject and have a good habit of independent research and development.
• worked for a few years with product development in industry related to polymer chemistry, organic chemistry or fiber chemistry

Knowledge in binders, adhesive processes or nonwoven manufacturing is a plus. You naturally share our values of working for a more sustainable society and creating new innovations with high customer value. We also believe that you have a genuine interest in green chemistry that drives you to take your own initiatives.

As a person, you thrive in an environment with challenging tasks. You enjoy working both independently and also like to collaborate in a group. You carry out your work in a structured manner and you provide careful documentation. You are driven by creating innovations, are strongly result-oriented and are open to new ideas.

Job Description

As part of our R&D group, you are given a unique chance to be part of the company’s expansion towards a new Swedish industry based on green chemistry. You will work in a dynamic and creative environment where your own ideas and initiatives are welcome.
