OrganoClick’s subsidiary OrganoWood launches OrganoWood Nowa
OrganoWood Nowa is naturally colored and looks like ordinary wood, but the wood is modified by cross-linking of the wood fibers, which gives the wood high resistance to rot fungus. This has been made possible by using OrganoClick's award-winning technology for modification of cellulosic fibers.
OrganoWood Nowa has been developed by OrganoClick since 2015 and has been tested in field tests and via accelerated tests since 2017. Over the past six years, OrganoWood Nowa has undergone a variety of tests and obtained good test results, e.g. Durability Class 1 according to the accelerated test EN 113-2. Field tests have been completed and are ongoing in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Malaysia to test the durability of the treated wood in different environments. The treated wood has also shown good resistance to temites in accelerated tests (EN 117). The wood's mechanical properties have been tested with EN 310, which shows that the strength of OrganoWood Nowa is equivalent to untreated wood.
OrganoWood Nowa ages like ordinary wood and turns gray over time when exposed to the elements. During the autumn 2022, OrganoWood Nowa was implemented in full-scale production at OrganoWood's production partner Bergs timber Bitus in Nybro. OrganoWood Nowa is manufactured according to a standardized pressure impregnation process and does not require high temperature drying unlike our second generation wood protection technology OrganoWood Silicium HT. OrganoWood Nowa will therefore become OrganoWood's new standard product, while OrganoWood Silicum HT will become a premium product with its dark brown colour. OrganoWood's first product generation will with this product launch be completely phased out. The first deliveries of OrganoWood Nowa begin in February and will be OrganoWood's standard product from March.
"After more than 8 years of product development and testing, we are very proud of the result, OrganoWood Nowa. A naturally colored wood protection with very good test results and also easy to produce. We already have large orders from our German distributors and also from several of our Swedish customers. It will be very exciting to see OrganoWood Nowa in real construction projects soon," says Mårten Hellberg, CEO OrganoClick AB.
